The Palm House in the park of Schönbrunn is the largest of its kind on the European continent - covering an area of 2,500 square meters, a length of 111 meters and 4,900 square meters of glass surface. The Palm House is divided into three pavilions, which are connected by tunnel - like passages and presented in three climatic zones. The highest room displays plants of the Mediterranean Basin, the Canary Islands, South Africa, America and Australia. In the northern room there are plants from China, Japan, the Himalayan region and from New Zealand. In the third area grow tropical and subtropical plants.
